OKAY, HOLD THE FUCK UP.
THIS IS WHAT THE MEDIA DOES TO POSTS AND SUCH.
YOU PEOPLE ARE LAUGHING AT THIS MAN. WHY. BECAUSE HE WAS BROUGHT TO TEARS? I’M SURE IF THIS MAN WAS GAY, YOU’D BE ALL OVER IT.
YOU’RE NOT GETTING THE WHOLE STORY.
THIS MAN ASKED HIS FOLLOWERS ON SOCIAL MEDIA A QUESTION WHEN HE SAW THAT HE HAD QUITE A LOT OF LGBT FOLLOWERS. HE SAID, “IF YOU COULD CHOOSE WHETHER TO BE GAY OR STRAIGHT, WHICH WOULD YOU CHOOSE?”
AND THE RESPONSES MOVED HIM. THEY FUCKING MOVED HIM. THAT’S WHY HIS CRYING. I’M SORRY, BUT IF YOU PEOPLE ARE GOING TO SHIT ON HIM WITHOUT GETTING THE WHOLE STORY, I CAN’T TALK TO YOU.
HIS QUOTES ARE LITERALLY:
"Sorry, guys… It’s just… It’s sad."
"So, don’t take my word for any of this. Listen to them."
"And if you think being Gay is a choice, and you want to hide behind the Bible, show me the verse where God says being gay is a choice."
HERE IS THE ARTICLE
AND HERE IS THE VIDEO
I, AS A LESBIAN, AM FUCKING DISAPPOINTED IN YOU PEOPLE WHO ARE GIVING HIM SHIT.
IN THE VIDEO,
HE FUCKING SAYS “This video is about a kid who came out to his parents, and their… Their response was horrific.”
THIS MAN IS SOMEONE WHO CARES
AND THIS MAN IS SOMEONE YOU’RE HATING ON .

GET THE WHOLE FUCKING STORY BEFORE YOU DECIDE WHO YOU INSULT. AND, MOST OF ALL, JUST KEEP YOUR SHIT TO YOURSELF UNLESS YOU’RE 100% SURE YOU WANT TO SAY IT.

but please keep in mind that Rin had no friends in Australia

and he was very starved for connection to people his own age

and talking about Haru was probably what kept him going for so long

Watch it in video

No.

No this is not funny.

Whether or not it is a joke, I’ve gone onto the channel and there are multiple videos similar to this, which makes me think they’re fake.

Doesn’t matter.

These videos enforce the idea to parents that yes, the answer to stop your child becoming obsessed with games is to DESTROY them.

No. This is not funny. It is things like this that cause events such as the father who SHOT his daughter’s laptop to bits to occur. These jokes enforce the attitude that people are ‘wrong’ for loving games.

For wanting to play games.

For some people (including myself), games are a serious escape from horrid realities. The only escape some people can get. The idea that this man (boy?) is wrong for being so upset is disgusting to me?

This is horrific. This is abuse. This is wrong.

This is a sure fire way to get your kids to hate you.

do people not understand how much video games cost?

Video games are a multi-billion dollar business. Some people are good at it. Very good. Do not squander your child’s talents, help them realize them and strengthen them. There are other ways to get your child outside without destroying their games and everything they work for. This won’t solve anything; this will only set them back further.

do this to your childs anything and they will automatically hate you/not trust you

It doesn’t matter what it is

It doesn’t matter if its their video games or if its their smoking pipe

If you just destroy it/throw it away, you are giving no explanation as to why it’s bad/you don’t want them to have it

This can actually psychologically mess a kid up because you teach them that if someone doesn’t like something, they should destroy it

That can lead to some serious problems with socializing with others and other things

dont do that to people

dont

I had a notebook I used to write in all the time. I did that thing that Margo did in Paper Towns where she criss crossed her writing, but I did it so I’d have enough room to write everything. I took it everywhere wtih me and wouldn’t let my parents even start the car unless I had in in my lap. My dad got really annoyed by this and said I needed to throw the notebook away, what was written in it wasn’t important anyway (it was to me, very much so). So one day he took and ran it through the paper shredder.
Ever since I’ve had an intense fear of losing my notebooks and currently have a colletion of 53 blank notebooks and 16 that have been written in because I’ve started hoarding them.
Long story short, don’t fucking do this to your kids. You think it’s harmless and some people even think it’s clever, but you’re really just an asshole and are causing actual psychological problems for your children.

I have a plush rabbit that I’ve had since Easter of the year I was born (I was about 2 months old when I got it). It quickly became a comfort thing for me and I used to go everywhere with it as a child. When my mum and dad split up was when I became kind of dependent on having it around.
If ever I did anything wrong mum always threatened to take it away from me, which obviously caused my 6-year-old self to kick and scream and cry because I needed it.
One day I lost it for 6 or 7 months (turns out it was in my room the whole time but shh it was very well hidden & neither myself or my mum know how it got there)
That was the point that my mum realised she couldn’t threaten to take it away because holy shit I changed so much in those months.

Seriously, if your child is dependent on something, or takes great comfort in having it around
DO NOT TAKE IT FROM THEM.
It does not matter how old your child is, what their comfort item is, if it’s a video games console - don’t take it from them. If it’s their phone - don’t take it from them. If they’re 18 and still sleep with a teddybear - don’t take it from them.

This also goes for if your child is self-harming. If they have a blade in their bedroom and you find it DO NOT THROW IT OUT. Talk to them about it, be as supportive as you can, but do not think “oh well if I get rid of it they’ll be fine”. It can be seriously distressing and also lead to them becoming creative with what they use.

Also, DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH FUCKING MONEY THAT IS?! MOST OF THE GAMES NOWADAYS COST $60 NEW AND THATS WHEN THEYRE MOSTLY BOUGHT SO BASICALLY YOURE SHREDDING UP $60 PER FUCKING GAME, YOU FUCKING DOUCHE BAG OF A PARENT.

i have never in my life heard of or experienced an instance when parents taking something away has actually improved the situation. even something as simple as a toy in the checkout lane at my store- the reaction children have to their parents physically removing a toy from their hand to give it to me and say “we’re not getting this” is drastically worse than those parents who tell the child to give me the toy.

when i was in middle school and junior high, my family tried to “take the internet away from me” through dozens of means. all that happened was I got smarter, sneakier, and spent even less time doing and thinking about homework or school. i was preoccupied with how to access my friends and escapes. instead of playing with my friends we’d all go into the computer lab at lunch to look at the new stuff online because i wasn’t allowed to go on at home, and i knew my ability to do so depended on my stealth. those years were some of the most straining on my relationship with my family by far.

Honestly though, my parents were talking about this and laughing, saying the kid deserved it. I wanted to talk back, but any retaliation from them results in me being called dumb, and them being like well who do you assume bought the games? Like no it doesn’t matter this can seriously fuck a kid up.

Like once when I was in high school I got into yaoi, and my mom found out and freaked. She threatened to take away all my manga, take down my wall of collages I had made of all my favorite anime, and go to my school and tell them not to let me check out books.

Now I’m sure if you asked my mom this now she would deny it or come up with some bullshit excuse as to why she told me not to read them. But it seriously messed me up. Like I got so mad I ripped down my collages, shredded them up and didn’t want to talk to my mom for a good week because I was so mad that I couldn’t like yaoi, but my stepdad could have porn magazines. Didn’t make much sense to me and made me feel like my interest were bad because they were gay, which led me to not telling my mom about me being gay for so long, out of that fear.

So please, never do this to your kid. I get restrictions, and groundings from things for bad behavior and ya know stopping your kids from bad things, but not taking away something they like that is innocent enough when you allow someone else to keep what they like and they don’t get reprimanded for it.

I remember one time that I would sometimes buy wigs Ebay and work on some closet cosplays from different genres and my mom thought that it was weird and inappropriate and threatened me to throw out my cosplay wigs and costumes because of not only my grades and also going to conventions but also other petty things that I don’t care for I got so mad at her that I began to hate and rebel against her even not apologizing keep in mind that I didn’t let cosplay go into my head but it was my passion I liked styling wigs and working on costumes but threatening me to throw them away is not okay and I won’t forgive my mom for doing that nor accept her apology as an act of innocence.
